Backdrop
I think the pictures say it all really. Stunning views of Tromsø, the surrounding islands, mountains and fjords – this place is insane. You can chase the Northern Lights from September to April when it’s dark and clear. The most frequent sightings are between 18:00 and 02:00. Tromsø is situated in the middle of the Northern Lights Belt and is a prime spot for it (although I didn’t see them). Backdrop: 5/5.
Seating
Indoor seating with panoramic views (4/5 six-seater window tables), outdoor viewing platform with glass barrier (no seating). Seating score: 3/5.
Atmosphere
This definitely falls into the ‘it is what you make it’ bucket. Built as a tourist destination, most people are here for the same (very good) reason – those views! Atmosphere score: 2.5/5.
Beer
Two on draught – Mack Pilsner and Mack Nordlys
Fjellstua cafe - Tromsø, Norway
Summary
