The Pub
Backdrop
If you like watching Atlantic waves smash into the shore as the sun dips below the horizon, this place is for you. St Agnes is a beautiful little village. There’s no traffic and hardly any people (it’s not really big enough) so you can really engage with the surroundings. I had 3 or 4 pints, met a random lad from Edinburgh and enjoyed the sunset. Backdrop score: 4.8/5.
Seating
Decent amount of seating on the decking, unobstructed views (there is glass but it’s not really imposing like Pier House in Westward Ho!). Seating score: 4.5/5.
Atmosphere
I’ve seen a few complaints re staff but experienced no issues myself. Everyone was upbeat and enjoying the moment – I felt completely at ease: 4/5.
Beer
Four draughts on tap, I went for San Miguel because I like my ‘European crap’ as one follower put it ;-).
Facilities
No comment – I didn’t go to the toilet as I went straight up to The Driftwood Spars for my next pint!
Schooners, St Agnes
Summary
Worth travelling for. The UK’s only true beach bar until proven otherwise.
